At the 96th community weekly MeetUp, which took place on March 22, the following topics were discussed: technical updates, Everscale Africa projects, presentation of the new NFT standard, Everscale Academy update. This article provides an overview of the highlights of the MeetUp.
Last week, an update was released that made it possible to fix the bugs like a stop of the shard. Some technical instructions were also updated, for which the community will soon receive documentation. Some features will be implemented after upgrading the network to the next version. Mitja Goroshevsky also asked validators, who have not yet updated their blocks, to do so as soon as possible.
Everscale Africa projects
Imara NFT Marketplace
Imara is an African NFT marketplace created for African artists. On the marketplace, artists can place their works as NFT. The website contains an advertising section, and there is also a section of the most popular NFT collections. Imara also has a native token — Shujaa (eng. hero). The token will be used in Imara DAO to make decisions regarding the placement of works. The marketplace is still being finalized, but we will soon be able to use it.
Logiclink Exchange is an African exchange, the peculiarity of which is the integration of the African mobile service M-Pesa. Also on the exchange there is asset trading, escrow service and support for non-custodial wallets.
There are Informal banking practices related to group investment in Africa. Groups of people collect their funds and transfer them to a person for the implementation of a certain project.
Table Banking is a platform for such investments, where users can make transactions even without personal meetings. The platform is currently in development.
Presentation of the new NFT standard
NFT Alliance representative Marina Ionova said that although the proposal from the alliance was not accepted by the community, the NFT Alliance continued to implement previously born ideas, one of which was the development of the new NFT standards. This is needed because Everscale does not accept previously developed standards. TIP-4 NFT standard is developed and improved according to the features of Everscale. In the future, it is planned to implement support for one standard on all products and websites, including wallets.
Everscale Academy update
The platform with courses from Everscale Academy was monetized: now teachers will place courses for EVER (about 15% will go to the academy for the possibility of placement), and students, in turn, will pay for courses for EVER and receive NFT certificates for completing courses. Course placement is decided by DAO administrators. If teachers place their courses for free, students can take courses and complete tasks, but they will not receive certificates.
Everscale Academy also developed its own Academy TIP-3.1 token on the Everscale blockchain. It is planned to use the token for DAO and payments on the course platform.
